We would like to welcome you into our home, King’s Stile Cottage Bed and Breakfast, which is in the old village of Atworth near Bath and Bradford on Avon. The cottage is named after the old “King’s Stile” from the English Civil War and which is now located at the side of the house.
Welcome
King’s Stile Cottage was originally two cottages, one of which was built over 300 years ago. Both have been modernised but still retain the charm of an old country cottage.
We are ideally placed for visiting Bath, which is 20 minutes away. Atworth is on a main bus route to Bath, should you wish to leave your car at the cottage. Corsham, Lacock, Bradford-on-Avon, Avebury (with a stone circle even older than Stonehenge) and other National Trust properties, plus Longleat Safari Park are also nearby. Or, enjoy a day’s outing to Stonehenge and Salisbury, while staying with us. The River Avon and the Kennet and Avon Canal are also within easy reach. Wiltshire is famous for crop circles and we are well placed for visiting these amazing sights.
Walkers and cyclists are also catered for as Atworth is on the Wiltshire Cycleway and our garage is available for secure storage of bicycles. There are several pretty countryside walks starting from near to the house.
King’s Stile Cottage is very conveniently located for parents and visitors to Stonar school. (We are about 5 minutes from the school by car). The Botanic Nursery, with the award winning foxglove collection, is next to the school.
